Maharashtra Gave Nod to Set Up Industrial Projects Worth Over Rs 81,000 Crore

The approved projects were set to come up in the Konkan, Marathwada, and Vidarbha regions of the state, where assembly polls were due in October.

The Maharashtra cabinet has approved seven industrial projects worth over ₹81,000 crore, aiming to create 20,000 jobs in sectors such as lithium batteries, electric vehicles, and semiconductors. These projects will be set up in the Konkan, Marathwada, and Vidarbha regions.

Key investments include JSW Green Mobility Ltd’s ₹27,200 crore project in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to manufacture electric and hybrid cars, expected to generate 5,200 jobs, and JSW Energy PS Eleven Ltd’s ₹25,000 crore lithium battery facility in Nagpur, creating 5,000 jobs.

The state’s first integrated semiconductor project, worth ₹12,000 crore, is planned at Taloja near Mumbai, promising 4,000 jobs. Avaada Electro will also establish solar and PV module facilities in Nagpur and Panvel, investing ₹13,647 crore and generating 8,000 jobs.

Some projects, such as the Mahape facility in Navi Mumbai, will begin on a pilot basis in September, boosting Maharashtra’s industrial growth.
