HCCB's Greenfield Factory: A Beacon of Growth, Sustainability, and Community Impact
Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) has announced the groundbreaking of its new greenfield factory in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth and community welfare. Spanning 88 acres in the MIDC Lote Parshuram Industrial Area, this state-of-the-art facility represents an investment of ₹1,387 crore and is expected to become operational by February 2025. The presence of Maharashtra's Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Industries Minister Uday Samant at the ceremony underscored the project's importance.
The factory is expected to create 350 jobs, offering both direct and indirect employment, thereby boosting the local economy and contributing to Maharashtra’s socio-economic development. Alongside its industrial expansion, HCCB plans to positively impact 81,000 people in the state through initiatives such as education infrastructure, water ATMs, sustainable agriculture, and community engagement centers.
Sustainability is a key focus of the new facility, which will use water from the Vashishthi River via the MIDC pipeline, reflecting HCCB's dedication to efficient resource management. In the Lote area alone, 10,000 individuals are set to benefit directly from HCCB's community welfare initiatives.
HCCB’s CEO, Juan Pablo Rodriguez, highlighted the project as a symbol of growth, sustainability, and partnership, aligning with Maharashtra’s vision of balanced economic and social progress. This factory marks a significant step in HCCB's journey, blending industrial development with environmental and community stewardship.
